We’ll Save Your System From a Crash Landing
We all have busy lives. As a result, you might be tempted to ignore a minor problem with your furnace, hoping it will resolve on its own. But we’ve seen all too often what can happen when small issues aren’t addressed. They spiral out of control into larger, costlier problems—including crash landings.
Trust your gut. If the furnace in your Greater Houston, TX, area home is sending clear signals that it’s in distress, schedule an appointment with us. Furnace distress signals include:
Strange smells: Your furnace may give off the smell of fuel when you turn it on for the first time for the winter season. That’s normal. The smell should disappear as your furnace runs. However, a lingering smell or one that crops up suddenly without explanation could be a sign of trouble. We can assess the problem and zero in on the cause.
Problems starting your furnace: If it takes several attempts to start your furnace or you need to restart in the course of the day, it’s probably hit some nasty turbulence—such as a faulty thermostat or disconnected wiring—and needs a repair.
Yellow pilot light: A well-functioning pilot light is typically blue. If your pilot light is yellow or some other odd color, you may have a ventilation problem. We’ll be happy to cruise on over to your Greater Houston, TX, area, residence to check it out.
Inadequate heat: Is your furnace underperforming even when your thermostat seems to be set properly? This is another sign that your unit needs a repair.
Constant noises: Loud and persistent noises—such as squealing, whistling, banging and groaning—are all sure signs of trouble.
Poor IAQ: A poorly operating furnace could spew dirt, dust, bacteria and other pollutants into your indoor air. If your family is experiencing more coughs, colds and respiratory issues or allergy/asthma flare-ups, a faulty furnace may be the cause.

Comfort squad installed a new a/c unit, furnace, and ducting for me a year ago. I am very happy with the system itself as well as the installation. The techs were happy to answer any questions I had about it. Just had my one tear system check and I'm still loving it!
We've used Comfort Squad over the years for multiple projects, including a 2 stage AC and furnace, sheet metal ductwork with fresh air, Aprilaire filtration, blower door tests, insulation removal, attic air sealing and blown in cellulose. I wish I could post pictures. The pricing is very reasonable, they do beautiful work and even installed a walkway for equipment access and a storage area in my attic. The owner is a great guy and truly cares about the profession. I'm not one to write reviews, but Houstonians need to know about this group.
These guys know their stuff! We had them renovate our attic two weeks ago. We’ve always had issues with the entire second floor not cooling. We upgraded windows and added insulation on top of what was already in the attic in hopes of making the upper floor comfortable. It helped but it was still 5-7 degrees warmer upstairs. So we started getting quotes on the ac system. We gathered 8 estimates. Comfort Squad performed some tests and recommended renovating the attic and replacing ductwork. It’s been over two weeks now and our home has never felt this comfortable since we’ve lived here (12 years!). Their bid was higher but we chose them because we didn’t want to keep “fixing” things like we’ve done in the past without results. Edgar and Francisco were great to work with. They were polite even at 10pm when they finished. Great job ?
Edgar came out to my home and was very knowledgeable in what I needed. His was the 3rd estimate I got and it was in the middle of the other two. But I must admit comfort squad offered more services than the others. And a much better warranty on their labor.(Beware of company’s that only guarantee their installation for a short time)He didn’t try to sell me options that I didn’t need or that I didn’t want and that was a big factor in choosing them. His guys came in on Monday and did a Complete measurement of my homes living space which included an air test checking my home for leaks.Getting a trane 3.5 ton 16 seer with all new ducts work.
Everything about this company is professional. Communication was excellent and included a picture of the tech along with his scheduled arrival time. The estimate was detailed and clearly written. Installation was seamless and the crew was polite, respectful of my property and left the job site clean.
